for me, isolating the image from the world is to cast an old, "hasbeen"
form new, so having the opportunity, to rebuild a model of reality. the
airport piece, i.e. approaches waiting never as boredom, but waiting as
attitude, one full of tension and suspense. the moment of scrutinising
something to happen, will happen, nothing happens.
i started to develop
the method of re-filming slides two years ago. my interest is to build
elliptical narration, insinuating between movement and still, questioning
the form of temporality, duration and sybjectivity. the
latest is the very departure of each film or in the case of the birthday,
why to select a footage, myself in the seventies.
i guess that my work
is trying to visualise a moment of interruption, as well as exercising,
control. control over an image, a little fragment of the outside world,
control over the space amd at the same time illustrating its loss.
my wish is to control,
being able to judge before seeing, to observe without being observed,
the reason why to create an utopian landscape.
mimicry of the real, probably hyperreal.
